what we collect
engagement data
when you vote, leave notes, or view products, we store that activity along with technical identifiers to operate platform features like trending sorts, public notes, and abuse prevention.
analytics
we use google analytics and internal tracking to understand traffic patterns and how people use the platform. this includes page views, sessions, referral sources, and general device information.
email addresses
if you subscribe to our email list or submit a product, we store your email address. you can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time via the link in every message.
if you opt in when submitting a project, we'll also email you periodic activity updates about your submission (votes, notes, views). you can turn these off any time via the link in every message.
product submissions
if you submit a product, we store the information you provide including project url, title, description, your name, email address, social links, and tech stack. this data is used to review, feature, and credit products on the platform.
creator claims
if you claim a product, we store the information you provide for verification and display on the platform.
abuse prevention
we collect and process technical data including ip-derived identifiers to prevent spam, vote manipulation, and other abuse. we also use rate limiting which may temporarily store connection data.
cookies and local storage
we use browser local storage and essential cookies to operate the platform (e.g., to remember your votes and preferences). third-party services (such as google analytics) may set additional cookies for analytics purposes.
when you first visit, we ask for your consent to non-essential cookies via a banner. you can accept, decline, or change your choice at any time. declining limits us to essential cookies only.
the vibecuterie badge
creators of featured projects can embed a "featured on vibecuterie" badge on their own websites or in emails. when a visitor loads a page that contains the badge, their browser sends a request to vibecuterie's servers to fetch the badge image. that request includes the visitor's ip address (which we hash before storing), browser user agent, and the url of the page that embedded the badge.
we use this data to count badge impressions, identify which sites are featuring projects, and surface attribution to creators. if you don't want this data sent to vibecuterie, avoid loading pages that embed the badge. site owners who embed the badge are responsible for any disclosures their own jurisdiction requires.
how we use your data
we use collected data to operate and improve the platform, including powering product rankings, sending email communications, preventing abuse, analyzing usage patterns, and developing new features. we may use aggregated or anonymized data for any purpose.
third-party services
we use third-party services to host, operate, and analyze the platform. these services may process data on our behalf. by using vibecuterie, you acknowledge that your data may be processed by our service providers in accordance with their respective privacy policies. current providers include hosting, database, email delivery, and analytics services.
embedded content
featured products are displayed in embedded iframes that load third-party websites directly in your browser. these sites may collect their own data per their own privacy policies. vibecuterie does not control or access data collected by embedded products.
data sharing
we may share data with third-party service providers that help us operate the platform. we may also disclose data if required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. we reserve the right to update our data practices as the platform evolves.
data retention
we retain data for as long as necessary to operate the platform and comply with legal obligations. temporary abuse prevention data is automatically deleted on a regular basis.
your rights
you may request access to or deletion of your personal data by contacting us at hello@vibecuterie.com. we will respond to requests in a reasonable timeframe.
children's privacy
vibecuterie is not intended for children under 13. we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. if you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us and we will delete it.
changes
we may update this privacy policy at any time. continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance. we'll note the date of the last update at the top of this page.
